Artwork & symbolism

A rose composed with Fibonacci geometry

Fibonacci geometry helped guide the composition of Rosebound Monarch. Golden-ratio and spiral overlays were used to study the flower, the turn of its thorned stem and the space around both.

The finished crewneck shows the rose, not the construction guides. Light and shadow give the petals their sculptural depth, while the curving stem traces the movement explored in the studies. The mathematics informs the arrangement without replacing the expressive drawing.
