Reading size and fit records
A familiar size label is only an index. The useful evidence is the object-specific table, fit note, and material behavior.

Compare a garment, not a label
Lay a well-fitting garment flat without stretching it. Compare width, body length, shoulder, and sleeve values with the published table.

Prefer object-specific notes
Different blanks and constructions can fit differently under the same nominal size. The record for the object takes priority over a general convention.

Keep uncertainty visible
If a source has not supplied a measurement, the catalogue leaves it blank. It does not invent a range or supplier chart.
