Symbols / guide 02

Symbols carry histories before they reach a garment.

Some 3TIL9 works quote Thelemic geometry and language. This is a context guide to recurring forms, not a claim that every object has one fixed reading.

01 / Form

The unicursal hexagram

A unicursal hexagram is a six-pointed figure that can be drawn in one continuous line. It became a widely recognised Thelemic emblem and is often shown with a five-petalled rose at its centre.

In visual work, the uninterrupted path can suggest continuity, tension, or the meeting of different forces. Placement, alteration, and surrounding text change the meaning of any individual use.

02 / Number

Why 93 recurs

Within Thelemic convention, the Greek words Thelema (will) and Agape (love) are each assigned the value 93 through Greek isopsephy. The number therefore appears in greetings, inscriptions, and visual shorthand.

3TIL9 uses the number as part of its own archive language. That use is artistic and historical context; it does not make a garment an instruction, initiation, or statement of belief for its wearer.

03 / Reading

Image, quotation, and authorship

Occult signs have accumulated meanings across books, orders, music scenes, personal practice, and popular design. A responsible caption names the source when known and avoids pretending that a symbol has one universal definition.

Creator-supplied titles and inscriptions remain canonical. Descriptive translations can explain context, but they should not rename the work or flatten deliberate ambiguity.
